1st Period Project

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT, (Christensson, P. 2010) the use of technologies to store, retrieve, transmit, and manipulate data or information.) are used in many and different different ways in different areas of work. They are helpful in a lot of things people do in their daily lives but also in more professional ways such as in bussiness or in school.

Some uses of the ICT are to learn how to integrate technology in our lives, to provide professional development opportunities, to share things with people, to accumulate knowledge, to inform, etc. But in this essay the author will explain the usages of the Information and Communication Technologies in school.

The main Information and Communication Technologies use in school are the TV, computers, Internet and even IPads in some schools, they may be used for presentations and demonstrations of themes over the projector.
Interactive games where students are able to learn while playing is also a very used and easy way for the ICT to be incorporated in school and education. Interactive books and notebooks fulfilled also this part.
Interactive and collaborative learning make the students an easier way to communicate during projects and an easier way to make students achieve their full potentials.

But not every ICT in this example are only for the benefit of the students, teacher and parents may also benefit from it.

Apps and special school pages help parents on watching the student progress and to receive mails and messages from school.
And for teachers, organization is was much easier and faster if done in a computer or any other technology.

Conclusion: There are many other ways for a school to use ICTs, and there may be more in the future, but here you can see some examples of technologies in their full potentials and the benefits they bring for the next generation of students. As you have seen, the ICTs aren’t just use to communicate and to give information, but to provide us with helpful ways on doing things we may not be able to do without them.

Areas where ICTs are used

The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are used in many and different ways in a variety of areas.

Some examples of the areas where the ICT are used are:

  • Education: In this new age, the impact the teachers try to impact on their students are more acknowledged if they give them digitally, such as presentations in word where the students can understand the theme that is being teached, interactive works and projects with other students or even e-books that interact with the students.
  • Bussiness: ICT helps the employees and managers of a Bussiness have more controlled over their projects and documents and to communicate with a coworker in your house, leading to people working in their own house with the same efficient as they have in their offices. It also provides a flexible framework as it leads to an easier management.
  • Medicine: The ICT provides the capacity to improve health by preventing medical errors in the doctors and patient’s documents, and to monitor the ill patients in intensive care units where the nurses can’t be there 7/24. Computers and electronic devices also help medicine students make their studies much easier.
  • Architecture: The impact of the ICT in architecture are huge because of the easier ways to design that some apps have create. Early planning stages also have been a huge event in this area as it leads to a better understanding of influences that affects the complex mechanisms of an architecture work.
Conclusion:  As you can see, the uses of the ICT are very different and very helpful in different areas. As you have seen, the ICT isn’t just use to communicate and give information, although that are the main uses, but also to help us and provide us things in our daily life.

Internet and Cloud Services

Internet: They are globally connected networks that hae is to communicate transmitting data via various types,of media using the TCP/IP protocol for it.

Browsers: It is a software that allows a person to locate, access, display and interact with web pages of the internet.
Examples: Chrome, Opera, Safari, Firefox, Samsung Internet, etc.

Search Engines: It allows users to search information in the WWW (World Wide Web). For it, you have to enter what you want to search into a search engines and it shows you a list of the web content result.
Examples: Yahoo, Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Ask, etc.

Cloud Service: Provides and transport data to the cloud so it doesn’t have to storage in the computer. It also allows to share and manage a document with another person over the internet.

My Favorite Movie

My favorite movie is called Project Almanac.

The movie is about five friends who discovered a strange machine that can transport them to the past. They use it for doing things they couldn´t do because of other activities (like going to a party where they at first couldn´t go because of exams, or winning the lottery, etc). But with all they jumps to the past they do, they accidentaly create a parallel universe destroying their own universe. In the end, the story repeats again but in a different universe where they solve the problem before it even began.

I really like it because the story doesn´t end with all the heroes winning as other stories do; instead they learn about the mistakes thay have done but end up ruining everything, anyway.

Networks and WWW

Network: A computer network is a group of two or more computers that can communicate between them, connected by physical and/or wireless connection. It allows users to share information and other things.
Some things a Network can do are:
• Emails, IM, chat rooms, etc.
• Share input devices.
• Share software.
• Share data through the use of storage devices.

There are different types of Networks which are classifies according to specific characteristics:
• Persona, area network (PAN).
• Local area network (LAN).
• Metropolitan area network (MAN).
• Wise area network (WAN).

WWW (World Wide Web): It is a network of online interlinked HTML pages that can be accessed over the internet. It was designed in 1991 by Tim Berners-Lee.
